Olivia's Latest Obsession / The Bomber Jacket

Bomber jackets have been a huge trend for a few seasons now. Printed, embroidered and leather versions are just a few ways the style has evolved for 2017, but I love the ubiquitous appeal of a classic black bomber.

Since every season, I always start with refreshing my basics, this Vince bomber was an instant add. I know that even as the trend ebbs and flows, this classic version will be a staple from season to season. You can pair it with a dress, or layer it with an oversized shirt and leggings, but here I went with a classic street-style look worn with a simple tee and destructed jean.

I love that I can wear this piece instead of a leather jacket for something more sporty. Plus, I get major style mileage out of it since it's simple and understated. Have you added a bomber jacket to your wardrobe this season or do you plan on updating your favorite from last year?

Fall Makeup Must-haves

If you're anything like me, Fall is your favorite time of year! Cool weather, fresh fashion and new makeup finds are a just a few of the reasons I love transitionng into the fall season. After a summer of a golden glow and bright lipstick, I'm ready for a change. I'm opting for a nude lip, shimmery cheek and a softer take on the smoke-out eye for September.

After my summer glow has dissipated, I find I need to step up my concealer game first, so I started this look with MAC's' Select Moisture Cover for a medium coverage under-eye concealer. Since I have sensitive skin I was excited to add Nvey Eco Smokey Eye Eyeshadow Duo from Good Earth Beauty to my new fall look next. An all-natural, organic eyeshadow, the palette applied smoothly and even doubled as an eyeliner with just a little water! I completed the look with my favorite bronzer and Chanel's Highlighting Powder for a bit of shimmer then finished with an all-natural nude lipstick shade by Hemp Organics.

Weekend Essentials / The Boxy Tee + Boyfriend Jean

wall2.jpg

A great tee shirt and jean are American classics and together are one of my favorite weekend looks! I scooped up this tee by THE GREAT last week at Nordstrom and it's already in heavy rotation! I've been a dedicated Current Elliott denim fan for years so it's no surprise Emily Current and Merritt Elliott's new line The Great is also a new fave of mine.

On weekends, I usually keep it casual unless plans call for something different, and last Saturday was no exception. I spent the day visiting my twin brother, Thomas, in his Passyunk Avenue neighborhood in Philly. We spent the afternoon shopping and stopped for an early dinner so a cool tee and denim look was the perfect option.

I love the easy fit of this tee and paired it with a boyfriend jean to keep the overall look relaxed. For me, I find proportion is key when pairing two more relaxed pieces; be sure that the tee isn't too long and the jean not too slouchy. A simple Vans Sk8 sneaker, oversized shades and a classic bucket bag complete the look for something casual yet polished.

What is your favorite go-to weekend outfit? I'd love to hear from you!

The Juggle is Real

Happy Labor Day weekend! Summer is shortly coming to a close and school is back in session! As a working mom, this time of year can be super busy for me with changing routines and multiple schedules to manage. Plus, I need to carve out time for outreach and networking for my freelance business so the #juggleisreal! Both my SAHM and working mom friends agree that having a system for staying organized is paramount! While everyone has a different method for staying on top of things, I thought I would share some of the ways I keep my home and schedule running smoothly as a work-from-home mom.

I'm a morning person, so I start out everyday checking emails, social media and get a jump start on household chores before starting my styling work. I also know many moms who use early mornings, before their family wakes, to get ahead of daily tasks or opt for some personal gym time. I even schedule calls early in the day to keep my evenings free for family time or meet-ups and networking events.

Since my schedule is constantly changing it can sometimes feel like riding a hamster wheel! But, keeping a calendar allows me to stay on top of things. Google calendar is my best friend; If it's not on my calendar, it's not happening! I then share any important dates, especially if it's new to my son's schedule, with his dad and my mom (his caregiver), so we can make any adjustments to our own personal schedules. I also keep an up-to-date contact list on all my devices with both email and home addresses. I refer to it at the beginning of every month to keep abreast of birthday's and anniversaries.

My 4 year old is starting PreK next week, so while we're ready for the new schedule, I know adjustments will inevitably be made. Having a game plan to start with gives me a little reassurance that even when things get busy we won't miss the important stuff:)

How do you keep on top of your to-do list and juggle your family's schedule?
